Wow, what a powerful statement! There aren't many things that won't fail you, but as you think about it, love is one of the things that you just can't ever go wrong with. I'm not talking about a mushy feeling, that's lust, not love; it certainly will fail you. But being concerned for the well being of another, being selfless, is never wrong. Yes, you might be misunderstood sometimes when you show charity, but that doesn't make it wrong. love is like an indestructible substance, no matter how hard it is beaten, it always seems to leave a bigger impression on the thing that struck it, than the thing that struck it did on it. Take Jesus for example, they beat him, made fun of him, and yet when he died, the soldiers said, "surely this was the son of God." Matt.27:54 So lets go and put it to the test today, and see that love will never fail us. This is the truth test known as empirical adequacy. It means that something can be proven true or false base upon what it claims. God had to write the bible, because all of its claims are empirically adequate, just like this one on love.
