Proverbs 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity thy strength is small.
adversity - a difficult situation, or a tragedy.
Adversity is:
1.) Possible - "if" adversity is going to happen sometime in your life. You don't know what it will be but it could be cancer, bankruptcy, a death of a loved one, and so on. Have you planned for adversity or will it shake your faith when it happens?
2.) Personal "thou" "thy" you are the one that truly feel the adversity. you cannot control how others respond to adversity and you cannot control adverse situation, but you can control how you personally will handle the adversity.
3.) Problematic "faint" the problem with adversity is that it will cause you to get discouraged. Be aware of this a prepare for this, take a vacation, get a new job, spend more time in prayer, but don't let adversity get the best of you.
4.) Periodical "day" adversity has a day, in other words it has a starting point and it has and ending. Don't give up, the darkest hour is just before dawn. Weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning.
5.) Purposeful "strength" adversity show your strength. Hosea's love was tested when Gomer cheated on him but he proved the strength of his love and fought for her until she came back and reconciled with him. Job's integrity was obvious until his faith was tested. Its easy to say were are strong but it's more meaning full to prove it.
6.) Provable "small" adversity will prove home much strength you have. The prodigal son thought that he was wise enough to live without his father, he thought he was frugal enough to have his inheritance, and he thought he was experienced enough to face life on his own. But he found out that his wisdom, discipline and experience were small.
Prove that your strength isn't small and stay the course for Jesus!
"If though faint in the day of adversity thy strength is small."
May God bless you,
